I work as an Akademischer Rat (eq. non-tenured Assistant Professor) at the Department of Political Science at University of Duisburg-Essen. My research interests focus on the role of immigration in politics and society, immigrant integration, policy effects on citizens, and quantitative methods. I am the principle investigator of two research projects funded by the German Research Foundation. My work has been published in leading international journals including The Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science, and Social Forces.

Before, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher and as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology, University of Cologne. I was a visiting scholar at the Danish Centre for Welfare Studies, University of Southern Denmark (2018), and at the Oxford Centre for the Study of Intergroup Conflict, University of Oxford (2016). I hold a doctoral degree from the University of Cologne (Research Training Group SocLife, 2015).
